Money Matters

As small business owners how do you keep track of your expenses and profits..? Even if what you do is just a hobby and you use your allowances to purchase fat eighths and ric racs, still the question remains.. How do you manage your accounts?

I have been using the pages from the back of my notebook to jot down income but after a year of using the 'system' I realised that I am unable to use the information I have to make any future decisions for my small business. While my income are neatly jotted in a notebook, my expenses on the other hand are scratched in my schedule book. By the end of the month, the only thing I'm aware of is I've made some money, but I have NO idea whatsoever of the REAL expenditure and profits I've made.

So, care to shed some lights on how you go about handling matter relating to money?? Pwetty PLEASEEEE..   

On a lighter note, my holiday is GREAT with loads of yummy foods, friends and families.. and I dare not go near the weighing scale..*scarry*Pin It

A girl named ALANI

I made a sling bag for a liltle girl named Alani last year.

The original pattern was simple, with prong button for closure and long fabric handle. 

I called the sling bag ALANI.   

Recently, I made another sling bag with some alteration. I added flap to the bag and instead of using fabric, I used canvas tape for the handle. The end product turned out well...quite good (grin) but the process was hellish.. What with packing and getting ready to return to Malaysia, the rush to add or do alteration at that tense time was highly NOT recommended.

I found attaching the flap to the main body of the bag was horribly difficult with the machine, and attaching the sling at the same time almost impossible. Blame it on the wrong timing, preassure to finish the project or PMS, but everything that was suppose to go wrong DID GO WRONG *arrrrggghhhhh* After several attempts, and lots and lots of ripping, I finally hand sew the flap and the handle to the main body with pink floss *grin*

Have you faced such experience..? When things go wrong no matter what you do, what do you do then, how did you resolve it?

Good to be HOME

I'm back at my mom's home in Taiping.

My plan is to just unwind, rest and EAT *grin* So probably not so much sewing and crafting for a while..

Before coming back, however, I made a couple of Odekake bags commisioned by a customer.

The first Odekake uses the Pooh fabrics originally purchased for quilt (see picture of the fabric here)

I still get very much excited to see the end products, as fabrics always tend to turn out differently in different bags.

MyBotanG's Odekake bags has two lined side pockets, with two bellows pockets on the inside. I use magnetic snap button for closure and I sell it for RM70.

How's your weekend so far..? I had a wonderful time eating durian, swimming, eating good food in good company.. *bliss*

It rained heavily on Saturday here, and the forecast predicted rain for almost the whole week, but to everyone's delight, it turned out to be quite a sunny Sunday. 

And so, we went out..
