Being in Japan doesn't allow for the luxury of SPACE. Yet I am lucky to have a room all to myself.
My sewing studio is very SMALL, thus the need to organise it in such a way that everything is easily accessible and in view, but still have some room to move without knocking stuff down.
Linen blend cotton, polka dot, stripes and small cut fabrics are on the open shelf
Fat Quarters and smaller cut fabrics are in baskets
More than 1m fabrics are stored in 3 tiered shelf
Scraps and remnants are stored accoding to colours in plastic bags and put in a box
How do you organise your sewing studio? I try to spend 15mins once or twice a week to organise stuff in my sewing studio. How about you?

OMG!!!! Look at your stash!!!! Mine is nowhere in your category. I tak boleh simpan kain. Beli je, terus nak make something. And I buy when I need to make something. Sekarang baru nak belajar build up stash.... Eeii. jelesnye... If I can only have half of yours...
okinokiyo - br kemas jek bacause i wanted to make this entry and i need to push myself to be a bit more organised.. if not everything is everywhere.. uhuhuh
mama nuriel - biler ada own room/studio nie lebih bersemangat sket nak menjahit.. :D
MisFyd - I know what you mean, for the longest time, i would bring everything out to the living room and sew just because sabishi sgt tak de music or TV in my sewing room, untill my hubby letak tv/dvd player dlm bilik tu br i start working there.. :D (hehehe ngada-2 kan)
Rozi Rahman - I wished I could be more like you.. i ni tamak.. nampak jek kain trus nak beli (although x de plan nak buat apa with that kain) and i end up with a lot.. trying to produce more to reduce the stash.. (so i could buy more..uhuhuhuhuh)
drooolingggg! suka tengok ur fabric stash?
same to me,bila nak ambil gambar letak di blog,i kemas first the stash
hehehe
memang kena seminggu sekali kemas sewing studio, ike fabric stash not as banyak as you,so letak dalam bekas lutsinar, tapi pun tak color coordinated..hahaha
wah banyaknya kain.. saya punya stash tak banyak, sbb tu senang nak kemas, semua masuk plastic box.. masih tak byk beza dari my last entry http://my.crazyartzone.com/mbm/?p=697 pun... kekeke.. langsir yg lebih elok pun belum pasang lagi.. hahaha..
tapi suka kerja kat situ sebab ada radio, tapi takde tv lah.. kadang2 memang angkut keluar bila nak cari suasana lain.. :D
wowzee! banyak tuh and really neatly stacked! mine is like all over the room, practically swimming in them I am lol. best kumpul kain ni kan, memang heaven...except to the pocket lol
very neat & tidy.
Love the way u organise your fabric, especiallly yang "Scraps and remnants are stored accoding to colours in plastic bags and put in a box" tu.
Anasfadilah - Thx! btul2x, time nak amik gambar tu push everything else yg tak masuk dlm frame tu ke tepi.. hehehe i used to have my paper pattern all around the floor in my sewing room, lepas tu biler nak guna gelabah mencari..
Maya - Love seeing your sewing studio, your fabric are all in covered boxes.. atleast tak la risau berhabuk or luntur colour if kena matahari kan..
Zura - Memang heaven tak ingat dunia la time membeli kain, then biler nak kira bill berpeluh..hehehhe
dura - Thx!! I used to have headache when nak make something from the scrap fabrics (they used to all be in one big bag.. now atleast yg kecik-2 sgt tu i pun in one bag, the other medium sized scraps are colour coded - i use them esp to make straps for apron, pouch, etc.
Salam...
I hv been following ur blog for a couple of months now. I was drooling over your stash when suddenly my husband passed by. I said to him.."Look at this crafter lady punye kain..best betul. Kain semua cantik2 coz she lives in Japan." Then he came over and said " Hey..MyBotang is an ex-classmate of mine". Then i said" R u sure?".
My husband is Amin Jamri. Betul ke he was ur ex-classmate..SPM..
Anyway..I am so very new at this. Still learning. And so in love. And like the others.. I too wish i could hv stash like yours..and ohh..your studio..lovely :)
Azaidris - Thx for stopping by and leaving a comment. What a small world kan.. yup, Amin and I were classmates (form 4 & 5 i think) and we lost contact after that until recently we met via FB. Just like you, i'm new as well and still have loads to learn.. Thx for liking my studio and fabric collection (it's a case of over obsession..uhuhuh)
